The Contract Packaging Association and the Co-Packing Network created the Contract Manufacturing Alliance to bring together Consumer Product Industry Groups (Trade Associations, Product Developers, Ingredient Companies, Packaging Companies, Food Scientists, Incubators, Funding Groups, Brokers, Retailers, Food Service Customers, Distributors and Others) for common collaborative goals: helping brand groups (of all sizes) with their manufacturing needs.

Commercial Kitchens

One of the first steps small brands take before requesting the needs of a co-manufacturer is to use a Commercial Kitchen. A Commercial Kitchen (also known as a shared use kitchen, kitchen incubator, culinary kitchen etc.) is a place in which individuals or businesses prepare value-added food products and meals, usually paying an hourly or daily rate.

To expand awareness, CPA, The Association for Contract Packagers and Manufacturers helped form the Contract Manufacturing Alliance which introduces commercial kitchens and other arms of manufacturing to those needing early stage development. In this article, we will share a little about commercial kitchens and how they can help grocers stay ahead of the curve.
